Like everyone else, A Public Disservice Announcement had shows lined up that we had to cancel because of Coronavirus. Although culture and connection are vital, scrapping a few shows doesn’t seem important when weighed up against thousands of people dying from COVID-19. Regardless, this compilation is an attempt to repurpose some of the work that went into booking the shows we pulled.

This mix of punk, hardcore, indie and noise-rock collates tracks from many of the bands that were booked for APSA shows from March through to July 2020. It’s a snapshot of what shows #19-22 would have looked like. We hope it brings something positive in shitty times.

In case you were wondering, APDA shows are - and always will be - mixed bills. Its like a roast dinner, innit? Stuffing balls are great but its not sustainable to just eat them every day. And like a roast dinner, where every element retains its own character and identity but still contribute to the whole, we hope to bring different subgenres together in a way that allows them to do their thing without being forced into a box or losing their own diverse ways of expressing what they feel is important. We like difference and disagreement.

So there might be tracks on here that are Brussels sprouts to your ears, but hopefully you’ll find some Linda Mac sausages as well. Enjoy the eclecticism.
